WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE DENTISTRY?
A friend recently reminded me that when we were asked in grade school “What would you like to be when you grow up”, I always answered a dentist. My interest in this profession was sparked at a young age because there was a large gap between my two front teeth. Through my experience with braces and the new smile I gained, my self confidence grew immensely. I realized I wanted to provide that same feeling to others by becoming a dentist.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A DENTIST?
Dentistry is a creative and compassionate career. I am able to help people improve their oral health while at the same time engaging in my artistic ability to give patients a beautiful smile. Dentistry is diverse and interesting as each person has different needs and desires. I enjoy getting to know my patients as we work together to find the treatment that's best for them.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST FAVORITE PROCEDURE?
Cosmetic procedures are my favorite. Although these procedures can end up being the most challenging, it's rewarding to see a patient’s reaction to their new smile.
IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY OTHER PROFESSION OR CAREER PATH, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
In all honesty, I would choose dentistry over any other profession. If I had chosen another path, it would still be a career in medicine as I’ve always been intrigued by the medical field.
IF YOU COULD INVITE ANYONE PAST OR PRESENT TO DINNER, WHO WOULD THAT BE AND WHY?
I would invite my maternal grandmother, ‘Mimi’. She passed away two months before I graduated from dental school and I would give anything to spend a little more time with her. She never missed any of life’s important events, loved me unconditionally, and never failed to acknowledge how proud she was of me and my accomplishments.
